flowers for my ladies

Tomorrow is the International Woman's Day. You might or might not have heard of this day. And even if you have, depending where you are from, it might mean something different to you than it does to me. In many countries the International Woman's Day has a strong human rights theme - an occassion to raise political and social awareness of the struggles of women worldwide in a hopeful manner. In others however, such as my homeland of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the day lost its political flavour, and became simply an occasion for men to express their love for women in a way somewhat similar to a mixture of Mother's Day and St Valentine's Day. Women dress up, get together, party, and receive gifts and flowers. As the old tradition dictates I have dressed up. But I would not be me if I didn't give the old tradition a new twist: flower print pants, a splash of neon and leopard shoes lest you forget how I love mixing them all up.

In other news, Fashionable in Montreal had a guest photographer today - beautiful and talented Amra. Thanks to her for a great shoot and a choice of location showcasing the Montreal skyline.
